Coupons 4 My Cause operates as a three-way partnership between PS It Matters, Catalina Marketing Corporation, and your retail brand. With donation coupons generated using Catalina’s state-of-the-art technology and PS It Matters’ proprietary marketing and donation management software, this partnership delivers hundreds of thousands of engaged retail brand impressions as shoppers spend 2-4 minutes redeeming coupons that donate to the organization of their choice. This engagement is in addition to a myriad of other impressions resulting from benefiting nonprofits promoting the program to their support networks and your stores’ local communities.
With a program coupon redemption rate of 21%, Coupons 4 My Cause delivers hundreds of thousands of engaged retail brand impressions (2-4 minutes of sustained activity).
How It Started

Through an existing partnership between Catalina Marketing Corporation and Hannaford Supermarkets, the Hannaford Helps Schools program was founded in 1999. This program provides customers with a $3 donation coupon for every four participating products purchased over a 12-week period. Shoppers then redeem their coupons and choose a local school to receive their donation.

As a partner of Hannaford since 2014, PS It Matters was tasked with overseeing the Hannaford Helps Schools program’s operation in 2022. Since then, our team has driven significant improvements in the program by driving coupon redemption rates, fostering brand affinity, surging earned media, and maximizing the program’s impact on local communities. These efforts have resulted in the program’s exponential growth, as illustrated by a 2025 coupon redemption rate of 21% and a 1,205% increase in donations between 2024 and 2025.
After three years of program development and a decade of experience in combining retail marketing with nonprofit partnerships, PS It Matters is partnering with Catalina Marketing Corporation to launch Coupons 4 My Cause. This fully funded program can operate over any length of time and can focus on any desired cause category, including hunger, health and wellness, education, civic, military and veteran affairs, and more. Furthermore, this marketing program generates earned media and creates a direct interface between shoppers and retail partners. Over the last decade, this model has been proven to successfully create a repeated exposure marketing system, increase net sales, boost retail brand loyalty, and spark hyperlocal community impact.
